Tomorrows Café March 28,17
Story by: Abdullah Alsobaihi
Tomorrows Café was presented once this semester and won’t be presented again. The process of the presentation was to show the art work and drawings explaining each one in detail then answering the audience questions.
The Art show took about 25 minutes, Coultis did a really good job going through her art show and explaining each one in every detail. She answered everyone’s questions. However, she did the art show based on the art program she is in. also Coultis had limited room for her show and couldn’t use more space. Coultis is a senior graphic design major at Washburn, she did this project for her to be able to graduate in May.
“I would say that the art show went pretty well, I didn’t expect these many people to come,” Coultis said. The audience were about 10-15 people they were really active and seemed to be enjoying the show.
“she was very clear explaining the details on the drawing and why she drew them”. Omar said. She took her time and having to raise her voice and be clear for everyone to listen and understand clearly there were a lot of international students and staff there at the show.
She was at the students show for three years were she gave her expeditions, for this show in this semester Coultis was the only one to give the show at the art building. Then everyone else will be back to back after her show. Her favorite show was the Tomorrows Café, she did at Washburn.
“Not everybody can express them self’s, I wanted to be able to do that and do it well” Coultis said. She picked to major in graphic design to show people what she felt, and also trying to help people expressing their self’s with their work.
“I plane to move back to Kansas City when I graduate and work at a company there” Coultis said. Her goal professionally is to be a traveler designer, she wants to do what she loves art and combining it with traveling.
The timing of the event was perfect and also the people there were very nice and happy, we all enjoyed Amber Coultis giving her show it wasn’t boring. Coultis made the show fun and exciting people laughed and had fun watching her art work.
